!Shutdown on 15 December 2026
Google Blockchain Node Engine is shutting down. Here's how to move.
Google Cloud announced it is shutting down Blockchain Node Engine and Blockchain RPC. New nodes stopped on 15 June 2026, and on 15 December 2026 the service shuts down. Google deletes Blockchain RPC endpoints on that date, and you are asked to delete your own nodes. Anything still pointing at them will stop working.

01On 15 December
What happens to your nodes
Until then, existing nodes and endpoints keep running and get critical updates only. On the day, the two products end differently.
You delete them yourself
Remove them in the Google Cloud console once your new node is live.
Google deletes them for you
On 15 December 2026. Any app still calling them fails from that day.
What Google's guide does not cover
The migration page does not say when billing stops, how to export data, or what happens to IAM settings and API keys. Check these in your Cloud console before the shutdown.

Your options
QuickNode
Google recommends and partners with it. You can order it through Google Cloud Marketplace. Dedicated clusters are priced on request.
A dedicated node from HeroRPC
From $139/mo with a backup node included, if your chain is one we support. Ethereum and Polygon nodes are ready within 24 hours. For Solana we run validators, not RPC nodes.
Choose a chainRun your own node
Fine if you have the time to look after it: syncing from scratch, upgrading the software, and checking it keeps pace with the chain. Our archive node guide lists real disk sizes.

05Questions
Questions about the shutdown
When does Blockchain Node Engine shut down?
On 15 December 2026, according to Google Cloud's migration guide.
What happens to my nodes after that?
The service stops working on 15 December 2026. Google deletes Blockchain RPC endpoints on that date and asks you to delete your own nodes, so anything still using them will fail.
Can I still create a new Blockchain Node Engine node?
No. New node creation and new Blockchain RPC endpoints were disabled on 15 June 2026. Existing nodes get critical updates only until the shutdown.
Which chains did Blockchain Node Engine support?
Ethereum, Polygon (in preview) and Solana (in limited preview), according to its release notes. We run Ethereum and Polygon nodes, and Solana validators.
Who does Google recommend instead?
QuickNode, which you can order through Google Cloud Marketplace. Any provider that runs your chain works, as long as you move before the shutdown.
Can I keep the same endpoint URL?
No. You'll get a new private endpoint and update your configuration.
