A Litecoin node of your own. MWEB included, upgrades handled.

Your Litecoin node validates each block, the MWEB extension block included, and takes questions from nobody but you. It is Litecoin Core on a server sized for Litecoin. Payment checks never wait on a public API.

02Node type

What a Litecoin full node keeps.

One node type, built for payments. It checks the main chain and the MWEB block data attached to it.

The Litecoin chain and the MWEB data that rides with it

Blocks, outputs, fee estimates and sending transactions, in the same JSON-RPC shape as Bitcoin Core

Do you touch MWEB?

If you only take plain Litecoin payments, your node still has to validate MWEB blocks and stay on the current release.

03How it works

How a Litecoin node works: Bitcoin Core lineage, plus MWEB.

One program does all the work. It follows the Bitcoin Core design and adds the checks MWEB needs.

  1. Litecoin Core

Downloads blocks, rejects invalid ones and holds MWEB data beside the main chain.

  2. MWEB checks

The extension block adds confidential transactions, and every node has to validate them.

  3. Your endpoint

The RPC door, behind nodes.herorpc.com and a key.

  4. The peer network

Other Litecoin nodes swap blocks with yours.

MWEB is an extension block with confidential transactions. Your node reads it as part of normal block checking.

Release notes name pools, exchanges and MWEB service operators as the ones who must upgrade. Your node follows them.

Your app sees the familiar Bitcoin-style RPC. MWEB stays the job of the node, not of your code.

04Know the field

The Litecoin Core versions that matter right now.

There is one reference client. Its recent releases are what separate a node that follows the network from one that stalls.

  • Litecoin Core 0.21.5.8

The latest public release, listed on 12 September. MWEB validation, relay, mining and resource fixes. Upgrade strongly recommended for pools, exchanges and MWEB operators.

A security fix that went to mining pools first. Its notes describe a rule from block 3,172,640: MWEB blocks whose kernel signals extra data but carries none are rejected.

Check the release page for anything newer than 0.21.5.8 before you run your own node. Pruning cannot be combined with `-txindex` or `-rescan`.

05Litecoin, specifically

Six Litecoin facts that a Bitcoin node guide will not tell you.

Litecoin looks like Bitcoin from the outside. The differences sit in MWEB.

MWEB is a validation job

It is an extension block with confidential transactions. Release 0.21.5.8 lists MWEB validation, relay and mining among its fixes.

A rule at block 3,172,640

Past that height, nodes reject an MWEB block whose kernel signals extra data with an empty payload.

Pools got the fix first

Version 0.21.5.7 was a security release sent to mining pools only. The public release followed as 0.21.5.8.

Disk can run away

An open report (issue 1096) describes deleted MWEB files held open, with disk use growing 292 GB in 29 days.

A block the node cannot accept

Issue 1031 shows the mweb-missing error on testnet, when a block arrives without the MWEB data the node expects.

No trusted size figure

The project's own pages give no current chain size, so we do not print one.

06Who rents one

Who rents a Litecoin node.

People who take Litecoin as money, not as a chart.

Merchants and plugins

A store plugin that accepts LTC needs to see a payment arrive and confirm. Your node does that without a third party.

Exchanges and wallets

Deposit detection and withdrawals on a machine whose upgrade you control.

MWEB service operators

The release notes name them as needing the newest version. A dedicated node is easy to keep there.

Mining pools

Pools were the first group offered the latest security fix, so they run nodes that must stay current.

07Price check

What a dedicated Litecoin node costs elsewhere.

No provider we checked publishes a dedicated Litecoin price, so there is no bar chart here. This is what we found.

Chainstack

By request

Its docs list Litecoin as a dedicated node available on request, on a Pro plan or higher.

Chainstack protocols and networks, checked October 2026

GetBlock

From $1,000 a month

One starting price for its dedicated nodes in general. It lists no figure for Litecoin alone.

10Questions

Litecoin node questions

Real questions from node operators, answered plainly.

How big is a Litecoin node?

No current figure is published on the project pages, and MWEB changed what a node stores. A server sized for Litecoin leaves room to grow.

What is MWEB, and does my node need it?

MWEB is an extension block that adds confidential transactions to Litecoin. Every node must validate it, even if you never send an MWEB payment.

Which Litecoin Core version should I run?

The latest public release is 0.21.5.8, and its notes strongly recommend it for pools, exchanges and MWEB service operators. Your node is kept on current releases.

Why does my Litecoin node report mweb-missing?

The name says a block arrived without the MWEB data the node expects. The case on file (issue 1031) was on testnet.

Why is my Litecoin disk filling up?

One open report (issue 1096) describes deleted MWEB files that the node keeps open, so the space is never released. It measured 292 GB of growth in 29 days.

Can I prune a Litecoin node and keep a transaction index?

No. Pruning cannot be used with `-txindex` or `-rescan`.

How does my wallet reach my Litecoin node?

Copy the endpoint from your dashboard and call it as you would a Bitcoin Core node. The key goes in the URL.

What is the monthly price of a Litecoin node?

A full node is $139 a month and carries no setup fee. The backup node is part of the price.

How soon can I use my Litecoin node?

Inside a day. When the node has synced, the endpoint and your server logins appear in your dashboard.

A Litecoin node that keeps up with MWEB.

$139 a month covers MWEB, upgrades and a backup node alongside. Your endpoint arrives within 24 hours.
